These renderings of the next-generation Toyota Fortuner are based on the spy shots of the test mule of this SUV spotted testing on public roads. It has to be highlighted that the upcoming Fortuner will not be a completely new model designed from the ground up. Rather, it will be a significantly revised version of the current generation model.

Exterior design

First off, let's start with the exterior design of the upcoming Toyota Fortuner. This time around, the front-end design of this SUV has moved away from sleek and sharp styling to bold and macho. The main highlight will be the new sleek LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs. This time around, the grille has also been changed entirely and now gets Toyota lettering in the center instead of the traditional logo.

Speaking of the grille, the new Fortuner will get a large honeycomb-pattern grille in the centre portion, finished in black. Additionally, there will be a bold front bumper with LED DRL strips on either side along with vertical air vents. This time around, the SUV will also get ADAS, and the radar sensor for it will be placed on the lower middle portion of the bumper. Lastly, the SUV will also get a skid plate and LED fog lights on the lower front section.

Moving to the profile, the upcoming Fortuner looks almost the same as the current generation model. This is because the base for the new model is the current model and the IMV ladder-frame architecture. The overall design of the doors, window line, and quarter panels looks the same. This time around, the Fortuner is expected to get bigger 19-inch alloy wheels.

Most likely, the lower variants will get new 18-inch alloy wheels as well. As for the rear-end design of the new-generation Fortuner, unlike the current model, it will be more squared off and get a new set of LED taillights, which will also get a connecting LED light in the middle as well. The rear will also get an integrated spoiler and a brand-new, sharper-looking rear bumper.

Interior design updates

The major update on the Toyota Fortuner will be seen inside the cabin. This time around, it is believed that Toyota will provide the new Fortuner with all the modern amenities which other SUVs in its price bracket have to offer. The new-generation Fortuner is expected to get a completely new and more modern dashboard and cabin layout with premium materials.

Its list of equipment will include a 12.3-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument gauge, a new Land Cruiser FJ- and Prado-inspired steering wheel, ventilated and powered front seats, a new centre console, more physical buttons, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a premium audio system, and a ton of other modern creature comfort features.

Powertrain options

Under the bonnet, the Toyota Fortuner is expected to get the same time-tested 2.8-litre diesel engine, which makes 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This engine will get a mild hybrid system as well. Meanwhile, the other engine option will be the 2.7-litre petrol engine. Lastly, there are reports which have highlighted that the Fortuner could get a 2.4-litre petrol strong-hybrid powertrain as well. As for the launch, it is expected to make its debut in India by the end of 2026 or by early 2026 and will be priced in the range of Rs 40–50 lakh.
