Later this year, MG Motor India is planning to launch its third premium product, the IM6 electric SUV, in the country. It has now been confirmed that the IM6 will be sold under the MG Select dealership, which is the brand's more premium outlet for its high-end cars. Currently, it sells the MG Cyberster electric sportscar and MG M9 electric MPV. For those who may not remember, MG India showcased the IM6 electric SUV back in 2025 at the Indian Mobility Auto Expo.

MG IM6 coming to India will be sold via MG Select
The IM6 electric SUV is part of the portfolio of the IM electric brand, which is owned by SAIC Motor, which is the strategic partner of JSW Group. Both SAIC and JSW own MG India, with JSW Group holding the majority share. Now, the third premium electric product that will be sold through the MG Select dealerships in India will be the IM6 electric SUV.
MG IM6 details

First off, let's start with the exterior design of the IM6 electric SUV. This classy-looking SUV boasts a sleek and aerodynamic exterior design, which includes a sculpted bonnet, teardrop-shaped projector-based LED headlights, a closed-off grille, a thin air vent on the lower portion of the bumper, and an overall upscale front fascia.
Moving to the side, the IM6 boasts a set of large petal-style alloy wheels, flush-type door handles, and smooth body lines. The overall silhouette is also very bulbous and elegant-looking. As for the rear end, the IM6 electric SUV will come equipped with Aston Martin DBX-style rear LED taillights with a connecting light bar in the middle and a simple rear bumper.

In terms of the dimensions, the MG IM6 electric SUV will measure 4,904 mm in length, 1,988 mm in width, and 1,669 mm in height, and its wheelbase will be 2,950 mm. In comparison, it will be longer than the Mahindra XEV 9E, 9S, and the Tata Harrier.ev.
Interior design
On the inside, the IM6 will get a very simple, futuristic, and minimalistic dashboard layout. It will come equipped with a massive 26.3-inch panoramic display system. There will also be an additional vertical 10.5-inch touchscreen on the center console. Internationally, the IM6 is also offered with an ultra-long-range LiDAR sensor, NVIDIA Orin X, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295.

Other notable highlights of the upcoming IM6 include complete vegan leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a 20-speaker premium sound system. As for safety, it will come with multiple airbags and 13 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and many other advanced safety systems.
Powertrain-wise, the IM6 electric SUV in the international markets is offered with a rear-wheel-drive electric motor, which is capable of producing 408 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. It is capable of reaching from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds. There is also an all-wheel-drive version as well, which makes an astonishing 778 bhp and 802 Nm of torque, and 0–100 kmph happens in just 3.4 seconds.

As for the battery pack, it gets a 100 kWh unit which supports DC fast charging up to 396 kW. The rear-wheel-drive version offers a range of up to 555 km on a single charge. Meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive version offers a range of 505 km. Pricing of the IM6 in India will be around Rs 60 lakh and will rival the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 GT, BYD Sealion 7, and other high-end EVs.
