We saw the launch of several new models in the Indian market in the last couple of months. While we have several SUVs in the market, not all of them are performing the same way. Here we have a list of three recently launched SUVs in the Indian market and how they performed in terms of sales in the first two months of 2026.
Tata Sierra

The first on this list is the much-awaited SUV from Tata, the Sierra. While the SUV was launched in December last year, the official deliveries of the Sierra only started in January this year. The Tata Sierra is available with 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine options.

Ever since bookings for the Sierra started, it has been getting an overwhelming response. Tata has received over 1 lakh bookings for the Sierra. Coming to sales, Tata started official deliveries of the Sierra from January 15, 2026. Recently, Tata announced that it delivered 10,000 units of the Sierra to customers in 46 days. In February alone, Tata sold 7,100 units of the Sierra, while the rest of the units were sold in January.
Kia Seltos
Another popular SUV in the mid-size SUV segment is the Kia Seltos. The second-generation Seltos comes with several changes on the outside and inside. It is much more premium on the inside and offers a comfortable and spacious cabin too. It is available with 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine options.

In January, Kia sold 10,639 units of the Seltos. In February 2026, Kia managed to maintain the numbers and sold 10,308 units of the Seltos. There is a slight dip in numbers, but we feel that it probably has to do with the fewer number of days in February.

As this is still a new SUV, we feel it would take a couple of more months before we see stable sales numbers. The deliveries are currently happening to customers who booked the SUV almost immediately after it was launched. As of today, there is a waiting period of 4–6 weeks for the Seltos SUV.
Mahindra XUV 7XO

The third SUV on this list is the Mahindra XUV 7XO. We drove the SUV, and a detailed review of the same is available on our YouTube channel as well. The XUV 7XO is actually the facelifted version of the XUV700. It was launched in January and, just like the older model, the XUV 7XO also received an overwhelming response.
The XUV 7XO is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. There is a 2.2-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine option. Both engine options are available with manual and automatic transmissions.

In January, Mahindra sold 10,133 units, and in February 9,112 units of the XUV 7XO. Like the XUV700, the XUV 7XO also has a long waiting period. The waiting period for this SUV is anywhere from 4 months to 12 months, depending on the variant.
