1966 was one of those great years for Mother Mopar, who hit the nail in the head not once, but twice in a row. First, the 426 Hemi came out as a street-legal engine, two years after its debut as the dual “Acceleration” and “Track” motor, in 1964. Then, the Dodge Charger broke ground – specifically to introduce the nefarious King Kong V8 to the masses. However, it wasn’t until 1968 that the badass machine took wings. (
